Wolf Lake Elementary School Reviews

Everything about this school is awesome. The teachers and staff care

This is the first year my daughter has been in public school and this school has the best staff ever. The school is helpful with your needs as a parent and a pupil. Great school and an 'A' school!

I agree with a prior comment, the staff and administration seem like they are on a power trip, the acedemics are acceptable but could be better, it seems to me that the focus of this school is getting money.

This is my son's second year at WLE. We are very pleased with the faculty and the after school care is great!

Great school!! Lots of great teachers and fun after school activities. Parent involvement is also best of any elem. school I've encountered. Awesome principal.

The staff of this school are the best of any schools I have dealt with in the county. They truly care about the kids. There is also a huge amount of parent participation and the kids benefit from it.

This is the second year for my 2 children at Wolf Lake Elementary. Last year was a much better year for us as our children did very well with their teachers, peers and class surroundings. Unfortunately, due to the school 'bussing' in children from outside of the school's district, our children who live in WLE's district have suffered. We have also encountered bullying and uncaring teachers this year which is why our children will no longer be attending this school. As with any public school in Florida, the curriculum is designed to teach 'to the test (FCAT)' and does not take the time to help your child if he/she is not 'getting it'.

I have been unpleasantly surprised with this school. From day one, my husband and I have been dissatisfied with the culture of bullying from the adults. Minor, developmentally appropriate misbehaviors (e.g. talking during lunch, calling out, etc.) are handled by public humiliation. Submission is the goal, not teaching appropriate behavior. Even adults are treated in this way. I witnessed a parent being screamed at by a teacher when she picked up her child. The assistant principal witnessed the event, and rather then reigning in the out-of-line teacher, he began lecturing the mother. Although the academics are acceptable, I am concerned that the administration condones the 'I am the boss here' attitude from the staff. As a veteran teacher who has taught in several schools, I have never witnessed this type of behavior before, and I am concerned that it is so rampant here.

My daughters have had a wonderful experience at Wolf Lake. Their teachers go above and beyond to meet their needs. My daughter's kindergarten teacher did a 'home visit' for all of the students to ensure that each child transitioned happily to 'big school' and my children get up each day with a smile on their faces ready to run out the door to get to school! I think the facility is beautiful and I have great confidence in the administrative team. It is evident they work many long hours and are responsive to parents and supportive of the teachers and their efforts. The school rocks!

I find this school very good my children are very happy and challenged in the work that they do. The teachers are doing a great job in my opinion and they are very good safety wise it is a newer school, so I am still waiting on the system that requires your DL. to be entered into the ocps mainframe for background checking similar to some other OCPS schools. All in all this is a great school and you have to consider that this school just opened and they are already an A school. That says a lot! The front office staff is very friendly and the teachers are very quick to respond to you and your concerns. I also found that the vice principal and principal are very involved with all student activities and have incentives for students. Very good school I am very happy thus far.

This is a wonderfully diverse school with a well balanced school year full of curriculum, events, and fun! The staff is amazing and the administration knows what they're doing. The students always have smiles on their faces and the parents are actively involved. This school is the complete package :)

This school is amazing! It just opened this past year and the principal hired the most talented and hard-working staff members from all over the county and beyond! The school earned an 'A' in its first year. It is a wonderful blend of cultures and has outstanding parental involvement. The administration is very accessible and genuinely cares for each and every student. The principal knows most of the children by name (no easy feat with over 900 kids!) Everyone welcomes you and the atmosphere is very positive and inviting. You could not ask for a richer experience and a better group of people to work with your children!
