Layer Elementary School Reviews

Me and my husband loves layer this is a 'good school' and the teacher that our daughter have had have been great. Miss. Harrell is very good cause she do whatever it take for our daugther to learn and do her best to find out whatever she need to help. Go miss. A.Harrell

Upper facility seems very hostile towards parents and as a previous review stated, it's much like a military camp. The educational quality is par, but the staff should really think about making it a more kid and parent friendly surrounding. They actually had police outside one morning to insure parents did not leave their cars in the morning to walk the kids in, a great image for the children.

I have to agree with the previous review. Faculty and Staff focus heavily on what the children are doing wrong and seem more concerned with communicating what our children are doing wrong, rather than praising their successes. Thankfully we have moved to Keeth Elementary and have seen a huge difference. My child has a better attitude about school now. I attribute this to having great teachers and staff who really care. I've seen great improvement in her self-esteem as well.

Unfortunately this school is ran like a military camp. Faculty and Staff constantly down the children. No communication between teachers and parents. Upper administration including the Principal and Facility Manager are not helpful and unwilling to talk to parents on a truthful level.

To whom it may concern: I am proud to say that my 5 year old daughter attends Layer Elementary. I highly recommned every parent to enroll their children in Layer because the school has the best programs/technology available to their students. This school takes pride in making sure their students receive nothing but the best they have to offer. Ever since my daughter began Kindergarten two months ago she has already began to learn how to read. The school just received a 5 star award & was an A school for two years consecutively. If this is not enough reason for you to enroll your child in Layer than you are missing out in giving your child the best education they can receive. I highly encourage every parent out there to enroll their children in Layer Elementary if they want to give their children the best learning experience. Best regards, Linda Tortora

New school 2004/ Received an A rating. Good teachers, my third grade daughter is very happy.
