Heritage Middle School Reviews

They are not as good as they should be when it comes too dealing with Children.

I just got out of this school a couple years ago and I never wanted to leave. The teachers there are just so amazing that they actually helped me out by telling me about High School. The other students, well there are good students and bad students there but you could easily tell which one was which. The Principal was just amazing, he actually interacted with the students and teachers. My 8th Grade year had to be the best year for me because the teachers, the socials, and what the school opened up to you was just amazing. If you are moving to Deltona I suggest Heritage Middle School, parents and students will love it!

This school is amazing. It is a typical middle school, but not as bad as most. I love it!

Mr. Robinson and the rest of the staff at Heritage are amazing. My children were a bundle of nerves when they moved to Heritage in the middle of the school year after their father retired from the military. They were made to feel so welcome and treated as if they were family to the staff and principals. I wish my children could stay with them until graduation!

I love Heritage so much. The principal is amazing, the school itself it awesome, and all of the teachers are so awesome. Even I didn't want to go to High School. The teachers actually understand where you are coming from and try to help you the best that they can.

My child has been at this school for two years so far. She is doing better than she every has!! Wonderful teachers, she is learning so much!! She has been recommended for advanced classes and the teachers are very encouraging. I will not move out of the area so I do not have to move my child from this school.

I chose this school for my child after considering home schooling. I wish I would have home schooled my son now. I do not think that he is learning anything here. I receive some communication from teachers but not all. These classes are supposed to be easier for my child but I see no improvement as of yet. I am trying to rearrange my schedule to begin schooling at home again. I can do a better job than these school systems.

I am very disappointed and would not recommend this school. In the past three years, it has proven that the faculty is very unfair, disrespectful to both students and parents, and only cares about what would relieve them from handling an issue rather than to figure out the best way to resolve peacefully. We send our children to school to learn, not be treated as though they are criminals. This was a failing school, but some how they miraculously pulled an 'A' this year. What will it be next year? Leaders should lead by example. What example is this school's leader trying to set for its followers? Are you guys in this for the paycheck? or do you really care about our children's future? If so, then act accordingly and do the responsible thing. Educate them, instead of threatening them.

I dont like the fact that homework is not graded, and that they go over it in class and students grade the assignments, I feel that doesnt help in the learning process, and I dont know if my child is actually learing anything. Teacher involvement is not the greatest, I email my childs teachers alot and only half of them email me back. Heritage also has a very poor curriculm.

Its a good school for being public. They have consistently received an A rating and students do better than the state average. Behavior problems are typical for this age bracket.

HMS is a great place to learn! The staff is attentive and enthusiastic about teaching, and the students really benefit from that. The facility is in excellent shape and well-maintained.

Heritage is a great place for learning. The faculty and staff there are top notch and well versed in their field. It is a pleasure to work with such dedicated and innovative professionals.

I have not been particularly impressed with Heritage Middle School so far. My son is in his second year at Heritage. I find the staff to be uncaring and cold. The one person at the school who I am very thankful for is my son's Guidance counselor, Ms. Diaz. She has been very helpful and supportive. Also, I find overcrowding and fighting on the buses to be a big problem.

My daughter is in her 2nd year at Heritage and she really enjoys the school. Most of her teachers have been terrific! The office staff and each grade house staff have been very helpful. She also enjoys the Drama Club, which was reimplemented just last year. They put on a wonderful production. I feel that overall she enjoys her teachers, classes and the curriculum and therefore is putting forth her best efforts.

If your child has special needs, they will receive a very good education. Ask for Mrs. Dickerson, Harley, and Mrs. Farley for guidence. Students must be tough, as bullying is a big problem in this school,,,however contrary to the other reviewer I never saw disrespectful treatment from staff.

Heritage is a good school. The principal there genuinely cares for the students and their education. Heritage offers a large variety of extracurriculars compared to many other middle schools. The only complaint I have is the behavior of the teachers. I believe they have a lack of respect for their students and fellow teachers. I have witnessed a significant percentage of teachers putting down students either to their face or while speaking to other students. I do not believe this behavior is acceptable. Teachers who behave like this promote that kind of conduct to their students. Teenagers, especially at this age, need incouragement and guidance from their teachers, not ridicule and negative criticism. Teachers have an effect on what their student become and need to take that position more seriously.
