Deltona Middle School Reviews

I went here for three years and I loved it! The teachers are really nice and so are the people there. It was a great experience and it prepared me for h.s.

My son attened Deltona Middle for 4 months. I had great contact with all his teachers via e-mail. They did seem to care about his progress. There does seem to be some issues with communication amoung the staff though.

Because this school is so large, it takes too much time (from weeks to months) to go through the red tape in order to discuss issues with the administration and/or teachers. There are literally layers of bureaucratic mish-mosh to overcome to address any issue, not to mention something as important as the progress of, or lack thereof, a child.

I have had a positive experience with my child and the teachers. I would have to qualify this statement by saying that my child is in ESE and had several issues that kept my child from a full year of education. The one drawback is that it is such a big school and it seems that the problem children are taken out of general ed classes and put in ESE. It is almost like putting the wolf in the chicke pen!

Best writing scores (97%) in all Volusia County Public Schools!

Upbeat staff - helpful Extracurricular activities are slim Parent involvement is minimal. Overall, the school is poorly layed out (expanded beyond what the design call for). Confusing for students.

This school has great teachers but some racial tension among students.

The school has some good programs, but overall there is work to be done.

I think Deltona Middle has along way to go. The no backpack policy is ridiculous one way hallways are another issue. Is this school or Detention? All middle school kids arent bad kids!

Mr. P was a great principal with a lot of heart. Great school!

My step son has gone to this school 2 years. mrs schoyer and rothenberger has given 110% to their students as other teachers dont have the time to keep in contact w parents. I have sent emails and left voice messages and never gotten calls back after 4th message the question had already expired. My step son has been given another chance to go to 8th grade and I to went to this school. I hope that he can have the positive education that I had back then from now on.

Decent academics overcrowded extensive portable classrooms.

Deltona Middle School has provided a great education to my child. There are many great teachers here who are well equipped to 'deal with' middle schoolers. Safety was never a paramount concern as the administration was very pro-active in this area. However, there does need to be more tutoring, extra-curricular and sports activities made available to these students.

Only one of my child's teachers has seemed to even care or returned any phone calls, getting her schoolwork when my daughter was out was a joke, there is too much bullying at this school, it seems like no one cares, several teachers have made rude and unnecessary comments to my child, I can't wait to move and get my daughter out of this school.

I love phys. ed soo much I love the people there also the way mr. p does the words of wisdom is great also the way he cares for the school is great.

My 8th grade child is new to this school, having just moved here from another state. She says she really likes the students and teachers here. The principal seems to genuinely care about the well-being of the students, and is very good about communication with the parents. The office personnel, on the other hand, could not be more disorganized.

I believe that the teachers are too quick to judge individual students in certain situations that usually result in a disciplinary action. Some teachers seem to have a tendency to belittle students that they may not necessarily like.
