Lake Mary High School Reviews

Both of my kids hav attended Lake Mary High. My daughter has since graduated and my son is in the 9th grade. I'm pleased with the school itself. I like the PIN program to keep up to date on grades and in contact with the teachers. I don't care for the FCAT, but that doesn't have to do with LM, it's a state thing. Overall, I'd definately recommend Lake Mary High School! GO RAMS!!!

I am a student at Lake Mary and I love it. I feel that the math department is very very good, but some advice: you get much better teachers if you take AP classes. Overall it is a wonderful school and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Go Rams!

I have two daughters who attend Lake Mary High School and I am very happy with the school but, there could be some improvements made. Lake Mary has a very weak math department. Many students have math tutors. Our children are there to learn and the teachers are there to give our children the best education they can. I am fortunate to have kids who can teach themselves. Overall it's a good school.

I'm not a parent, I'm a student, and personally, I love it here! The pupils here are great, the education is awesome, and the teachers (though tough) help you a lot!

Two of my three sons graduated from Lake Mary High School. It was a great experience for both of them. The students were wonderful to my older son who was a transfer student in his senior year. The teachers and coaches could not have been more helpful and mindful of his situation. The academic experience was one that I would not trade for anything. Some front office personnel could have been nicer but did not have to deal with them on a daily basis. The principal was a prince of a person.

My daughter transfered here for the 2005-06 school year and she has never been happier.

LMHS is consistently one of the best schools in the area. It offers quality academics, and a variety of extracurricular activities, including top-notch sports and drama programs. The faculty are top notch and devoted. I took my child out of private school to send her there, because the education is better! For more info, check out the school's own website!

I found Lake Mary offered a great education, the staff helpful. A couple of problem classes mostly teachers who can not control a few kids so all suffer for it. Over all it is a good school.

Good school. Decent teachers although some are quick to pass-off bored kids as 'problem children'

This is a very strong school that holds their students up to phenomenal expectations. The faculty are very supportive and encouraging and build great relationships with the students which pushes them to succeed to even greater levels. There are also many programs designed to give a foundation for future career paths, that are very helpful and provide a great real-life hands on experience.

My child transfered to Lake Mary from one of the most academically challenging schools in Central Florida. I could not be more pleased with the excellent education he is receiving, along with the fact that he has time to pursue extra curricular activities both in and out of school. The faculty, teachers and fellow classmates made the transition from a small private school to a large public high school smooth, and despite taking AP and Gifted classes my son is able to have a life away from the books. Tha academic programs are varied and challenging, with less 'busy' work and more assignments given that directly relate to the subject matter. Plenty of opportunities exist for a student to become involved with arts, sports and clubs, and there is enthusuastic support from parents in all departments and student activities. I would highly recommend this school.

My child is in the gifted/AP program and she's doing great! Lake Mary is definatly one of the best schools around. Also my daughter likes the administration, and that's not normal. She's very busy in sports and clubs also, they have many to offer.

Lake Mary has been one the the best experiences my daughter has had. The staff is very friendly, they listen. The education is good, though right now their is construction I would rate this school top notch for anyone thinking of going. In the three years we have been at Lake Mary it has all been positive.

I think its a great school.

LMHS is simply the best public high school I've ever had the pleasure of sending my children to. The teaching staff are fantastic. And, if your child has an interest in Choir, the director is the best I've ever seen. The kids win competitions year after year. I'm also very impressed with the Honors and AP classes and teachers.

The quality of academic programs at LMHS is good overall. There are a plethora of extracurricular activities and everyone should be able to find something that they can fit into. The parent involvement is phenomenal compared to other schools. It is amazing to look at the amount of parents in the stands at games for LMHS versus the school that we are playing against. The parents and teachers really care and that is what makes this school so wonderful.

My daughter received a great education at this school and a college scholarship was the result.

In sports= excellent especially basketball, I play varsity.

After receiving a note from the school last year that an unqualified teacher would be teaching, and that there was no problem with that, I question their policies. My primary concerns are the rude way the staff speak to the students (power-trip?). Bad enough if done in secret but they do this with me standing there listening. There is no reason to be mean and a bad attitude does not earn respect nor authority. 3 years in a row now (at least that I've been aware of), new students do not have lockers and are forced to carry every book with them at all times.

As a former student of Lake Mary High I found the school to be one of the worst school experiences of my life. I was an A student until I went to this school. The teachers didn't explain our classwork or homework because they did not understand it themselves. Other students were disruptive and little or no action would be taken by the school staff. My parents took me out of this school after my first year and I was sent to private school, when this happened I went from a 1.5 GPA to a 3.6. I would recommend private school if your child is in this school district.

I am currently a student at Lake Mary and I love this school. We are the best in everything! I am also in the Lake Mary High School Marching Band and we have had 23 years of straight superiors at the district marching comp. We are 200 members strong and growing every year!!

I attend this school now. I have attended many schools, and by far Lake Mary is the best. Not only are the teachers nice and we actually learn something, the students are also nice and respectful. Although I have to say there are those few students who cause trouble but what school doesn't have that.

Lake Mary High school is far less than it's cracked up to be. While most schools allow 3-4 minutes between classes Lake Mary students have 7. This is due to the unreasonable overcrowdedness that makes walking from class to class a nightmare. Obviously everyone's experiences vary, but as a softmore student at LMHS in 2003 I can say that this school isn't anything special.

I sent 4 of my children to LM a few years ago.I can't say how things are now,but in the 90's this school was top notch.Three out of four made it to very good colleges...(GA.Tech,Geo.Wash.U., and Kent State...all on scholarships!)The one who did not go on to college did so at her choice.Keep up the good work Lake Mary !

Well, I am not a parent, but I graduated from Lake Mary and I wanted to comment that it is the best high school around and I received and excellent education there. I am so happy I went there and proud to say I'm from there, it's a great place for kids to be.

This h.s. is wonderful. Everyone in the area knows that Lake Mary High School is more difficult (academically) than several of the other high schools in the imediated area. i am very proud of all of the students and faculity. they work very hard for their high rating and continued success.
