Lake Orienta Elementary School Reviews

We are now an A school! It is easy to see how we became that way with the great leadership of our principal, caring teachers and staff and a supportive PTA! Way to go penguins.

The school has always had wonderful communication with the parents, on all levels, lunch staff, clinic staff, office staff, guidance, teachers, everyone has been wonderful! My son and I have never been happier with a facility quite like this!

A++++ Wonderful school with caring teachers.

This is a great school. My children have attended this school for 4 years now. The teachers are really there to teach and not just for a pay check. I would recommend this school to everyone.

The school overall is ok. Not outstanding, but not bad either. I am not thrilled with the PTA. We paid our dues, never get notice of meetings ect.

My middle child was diagnosed withh ADD & Bipolar & at first I had a rough time gettning the school to work on getting him the attention he needed. They'd call me to pick him up at the blink of an eye. However the tables have turned drastically, my son now gets the attention he rightfully deserves. THe staff is remarkable, we put together a plan that works for him & he is doing eceptionally well. I love the fact that as a parent I can come in & vave lunch with my children at anytime, & you are always kept informed...good or bad.

I have to say that Lake Orienta is a great school.

Two of my son's attend this school. One son has learning disibilities. He had attended another A rated school in Seminole County and was failing. I was forever in IEP meetings fighting to get him the help he needed. When he started at Lake Orienta, not only did his grades go up, but so did his self esteem. I have been able to keep him in a standard education class so he may work toward a standard diploma. The school bends over backwards to get him all the help he needs and bring in ESE teachers to help him keep up in areas where he has difficulty. Though it may sound silly...my Son used to stutter and when he started at Lake Orienta the stuttering went away entirely. I believe it is because he feels good about himself now and not intimidated. I can't say enough good things about this school!

Lake Orienta Elementary School in Altamonte Springs is a very 'tight knit' school as it always involves parents as much as possible. My daughters teachers are great and has them very involved with every activity in the school (educational, hands-on, educational field trips). THe school is in a great location and they have a very friendly onsite police officer - Officer Henry who I feel is doing a very good job by just being there. Therefore, with the confidence of knowing my girls are safe and that they are in a good learning environment, I would rate Lake Orienta very highly - at a 5 plus!

I am extremely pleased with quality of education provided to my son by Lake Orienta's staff.

I am a 23 year old graduate of Lake Orienta Elementary and have to say that some of my most valuable lessons were one's I learned there.

I have two children who attended Lake Orienta. My oldest attended from 3rd-5th and my youngest from 1st-5th. I can say that they both are exceptional students based upon their standardized test scores and their recent success in Middle School. Lake Orienta is a very diverse school; both racially and socio-economically. I love the fact that my children experienced the 'real world' at this school and learned to appreciate the differences that exist in 'our world.' Lake Orienta has an excellent faculty and staff dedicated to loving and propelling students to excellence. As a 'Title One' school, the rating of an 'A' means a great deal. I am thrilled with the education that my children received from this school! Thank you to all of you responsible for making elementary schoool such a success for my children!

The safety and security of our 5 year olds is left in the hands of a 5th grader to make sure our kids get to the pick up point to meet the parents, even though school officials claim adults are 'watching'. When speaking to school officials I was told 'this was never a concern before' well I do not want my child to be a 'first' or a statistic. I feel Kindergarten classrooms should be inside the school and not an outside classroom, also I feel the teacher or adult should stay with the kids until every last one is picked up by the parent. It should be madatory that parents meet the kids at the classroom! It has been said that Seminole is the best school district in Florida, but I have no faith in this school, that my child will arrive safely at the pick-up or drop off spot to meet the parents or teacher/adult.
