Spring Lake Elementary School Reviews

I think my kid is very hapy 2 be in spring lake and he has a nice teacher named ms.moore! KKK

I have had 2 and then 3 children attending this school in the last 3 years. I feel that the new principal has let school performance drop and I've been told by my 4th and 5th graders that the students do not respect the principal. There have been incidents at the school that have given me pause and going from an A to a B school has not given me confidence in the new leadership of the school. As such, we are moving into a better school district.

My daughter's 1st grade teacher (Ms. Hartsfield) was excellent. Her other teachers have been mediocre. There seems to be a lot of underlying hostility among staff at this school. Parent involvement is low as parents are not really encouraged to be around. The lunchroom situation last year was unbelievable. I haven't been to the cafeteria this year to see if things have changed.

My son attends the school. I feel it depends on the teacher. I also worked in the school and there is a lot of issues with the teachers and the principle.

My son went to Spring Lake from k-5 and had great teachers all years. I just wish he had a better principal, one who showed better leadership and was more caring for the students. The support staff was also awesome. We hope the teachers are as good in middle school.

The teacher in the beginning of the year was very attentive and checked their homework. However since the beginnig of January the teacher has not shown interest anymore in teachinng. I believe the amount of students in a class could sometimes be overwellming. Principal needs to get more involved with teachers and families not just at PTA meetings. This school also lacks a lot of extracurricular activities and sportsmanship.

My son is in 2nd grade at Spring Lake Elementary and we love the school! We have been very fortunate to have had some wonderful teachers who really care about the kids and enjoy teaching. We had considered sending my son to private school, but after talking with other parents and a few meetings at the school, we chose Spring Lake. The quality of education at the school is excellent. The school is an 'A' school and receives a lot of extra benefits due to Title 1 funding. The guidance staff is exceptional, as is the secretary, Pat Hauza. It is very easy for does a wonderful job and is always welcoming new members. The dividend program is great and is a wonderful way to help out. The library is very impressive, as are the librarians. Dr. Schmook is an excellent principal and the school is very well run.

This is a great elementary school. My daughter excelled academically. The teachers are great and attentive to the students and parents!

I feel that the school does not provide enough support to minority children and is not as concerned about their academic welfare. I have had several incidents that have occured and things have been taken lightly.

My daughter is in the first grade and I love this school, however I personaly do not agree with the changes that have been made with the picking up of my child... I have to leave work to pick her up and it is impossible for me to sit in the un-organized line for a hour to pick her up. I think there can be a better method of this somehow.

my son has attrnded spring lake for two years and unfortunatlly moved out of the district. i appreciated the fact that the school wore uniformsw to school and were more concerned about the accademics rather than the fashion of the schhol. parent teacher particapation was also greatly appreciated.

My child goes to Spring Lake and this school is great. The teachers are wonderful, they all really want to be teaching.

This is a wonderful school. I appreciate the fact all students wear uniforms. This provides the children with structure and lessens distractions.

My child is presently attending this schoo. though ours two other dauthers have great teachers, our third who needs special classes, got a very unproffesional, unqualified special teacher. so for me this school overall it's ok, but needs to work more on how to work with children with attention deficits. and how to help this children's parents, who sometimes are as lost and worried as the kids themselves.

Getting in and out of the school is a little tricky especially around dismissal time. Parking is a little rough.

My daughter attended 1st grade at this school. She did really well and liked it for the most part. I found communication was not very good and I was constantly being asked to buy something or send supplies into class. I would be given requests for things the day before they needed them. I was involved in her classroom the last 2 years. This school is good but I just felt like the teachers were young and less experienced.

I think Spring Lake is a wonderful school. I love the fact that they are uniformed as well. I can hardly believe the kind of work they are doing in Kindergarten.

Our experience with Spring Lake was an exceptional one. The principal, staff and teachers were always pleasant, helpful and encouraging. My grandchild enjoyed her days at Spring Lake and I enjoyed the experience of being a part of her early years education. The creativity of the teachers is exceptional. A definite A+ school and experience.

'It's been a great experience being part of Spring Lake Elementary. My daughter started in this school in kindergarten and graduated with honors, now I can't wait til' my son graduates next year. But of course we're going to miss this school! It's fun just going to meetings, and everybody is very friendly to you!
