Bay Meadows Elementary School Reviews

The parents are extremely involved. All specials teachers do a great job with the kids! Main office is always friendly and helpful, and enrichment program is awesome!

This is a 'A' school with the dedicated teachers and parents volunteering. Received #1 county wide volunteer and PTA award in 2005 and 2006. Brand new facility (same staff) in highly affluent area.

This is a wonderful school with excellent teachers! The school itself is new and in a very nice area. I would call this a very high class school with supportive staff members.

Great school. Great teachers and staff!

All of my children have gone to Bay Meadows. Part of the big success at Bay Meadows is the parental involvement. Parents help the teachers so the teachers can teach. It is a wonderful environment. I have both gifted and learning disabled children and all have been given the best of the best.

Wonderful school, this is the best elementary in central flroida, all those moving here must send their kids here. Just great.

Bay Meadows Elementary is a wonderful school. The staff does an outstanding job with the kids. I am pleased that it is a diverse school. The parent involvment is incredible and it makes a big difference.

Great school very involved pta

The involvement of parents in this school is fantastic. Most classes have at least one room mother who assists the teachers with many activities. The staff is responsive and the principal is very involved and approachable.

I was not impressed by this school. This is supposed to be an A school yet there is a lot of bulling in this school. Academic was yes it is okay. I have seen beter. Then again my daughter had a first year teacher

I have been very happy with the education my children have received at Bay Meadows. We have only been at the school for 2 years and feel very welcomed there. I would recommend this school to someone who was moving to this area. The parent involvement is great!

Academically, Bay Meadows is the best school in the district. Their test scores are usually the highest, which is why we chose to send our child here. Level of parent involvement is very high, and volunteer opportunites are plentiful. Music and art programs are very good. Each grade has a performance once a year. The homework hotline helps you stay informed about what is going on in the class and also assignments. We have had a very positive experience here. They also have a gifted/enrichment program that you can have you child test for. The PTA is very strong and works all year from putting together supply packs that you can purchase to organizing events such as a Carnival and Family Nights. There is always something going on that you can participate in!

This academic year (2004-05) was my first experience in the public school system. My daughter, who is now in her fifth grade, went to a private catholic school from kinder to fourth grade. Our experience at Bay Meadows Elementary have been excellent. The personel is dilligent and efficient. The teachers are well qualified, teach well and are responsible with their students. The school director as well as her assistant, are very dynamic and keep everything 'on tracks'. The discipline is excellent and I mean it. In overall the school is one of academic excellency with a good and friendly environment. My daughter is happy so I am.

The teachers at this school are exceptional. They have a large number of students and have grown so much in the last few years, I think the teachers have handled it great. I can't wait to see how things are improved upon during the next few integral changing years.

FCAT is a JOKE! So much time is spent on preperation for this test that regular school work is left behind.

My son attended Bay Meadows last year in second grade. He really enjoyed it. One thing I liked very much, was that I had plenty of opportunities to join him in class. Every few weeks I had the chance to be involved in the classroom and speak to the teacher, whether it be a day parents were invited to a special in-class production or a day the children were going to be reading aloud a story they wrote themselves. I believe that was a great way to let the children show their parents what they have been working on and a great way to get to know your childs teacher not just once a year, but all year round to keep the communication open. Bay Meadows is all around a great school.

We moved here a few years ago from Ohio with huge concerns about Florida schools. Bay Meadows Elementary put our fears to rest. The teachers, staff and parents are dedicated to making this school one of the best. The area that has impressed me the most is the ADDitions program. The program coordinates parent volunteers to provide advanced math, science, Spanish and publishing opportunities at each grade level. I like that the school and the PTA welcome and promote parental involvement. There is a wonderful sense of community at Bay Meadows.

I've had a 5th grader and durrently have a 2nd grader in his 3rd year at Bay Meadows and have been very happy with the school in all areas. The school is over-crowded, but they maintain decent class sizes. I beleive the success at Bay Meadows is due to excellent Principal leadership and strong parental involvement.

I find it incredibly ridiculous how many people speed, in fact, race around the road that circles the parking lot! Heaven help you if you hit someone. As far as the education goes, it seems to be good. This school was the deciding factor when we moved here. I like the fact that my kids have homework everyday and they seem to really enjoy going to school.

If it were not for the education my child recieved at Bay Meadows her level which she presently enjoys would have not been obtainable.

I love this school! The education my son is getting can not be matched by any private school. The PE teacher is the best teacher I have ever seen. He has really given my son more confidence in himself and I can tell all the students love his class. The art and music program are like no other. They frequently put on shows that give the children many memories. I would say that this is the best school in the county.

Great extra circulum activities. Attention to academic advancement.

Bay Meadows is an outstanding elementary. After five years of experience with the administration, teachers, students, and parents...it is very evident that education, safety and commitment excel at this school. There is genuine 100% concern for each student.

The volunteers are what makes the school so great. My children have for the most part had an excellent education, I can't say perfect as I did have a bad experience with 1 teacher. They were more than prepared for middle school. I agree that to much emphasis is placed on the FCAT, as everyday learning should be the same as it is on FCAT testing days. The principal is wonderful and I feel she does do a great job from trying her best to assign the teachers to being actively involved with the students from standing in the halls before and after school to giving each child have the opportunity to read to her. No school is perfect but Bay Meadows does rank up there as being one of the best.

Bay Meadows is an exceptional academic and social learning environment for our children. The administration is accessible and experience. The techers are motivated, caring and enthusiastic. Parent involvement is very high with plenty of volunteer opportunities. All parents are encouraged to get involved in their child's educational experience. The PTA sponsors many fun-filled family events as well as engaging educational programs. Bay Meadows is a terrific school and we are pleased that our children attend there.

Bay Meadows is a one of a kind elementary school. They have a welcome family-friendly atmosphere with all kinds of activities to involve anyone willing to give of their time and talents. The school is one of a handful in Florida to win a National Parent Involvement Award -- and it shows through their extensive programs and classroom curriculum enrichment activities. The kids are great. The teachers are the best of the best. And the PTA is first rate!

Bay Meadows is a very fine school however, as with the entire public school system in Florida it does have its problems. It is a very conpetitive school, which doesn't want or for that matter cater to the average student but only wants the excellent student. It seems that FCATS are more important than the daily teacher student relationships. I find the parents the worst when it comes to being competitive. It is a hard nut to crack getting into the PTA or even being welcomed into the family at Bay Meadows. It is an A rated school and that is all anyone is interested in. It is not your warm and fuzzy environment! Of course moving from the south to Florida is a rude awaking anyway so I guess I should not expect much from the attitudes of the school and PTA. I don't think my son is getting a bad education I just think he is not getting a well rounded one.

I found the PTA can be 'stuffy' to new comers, as I was last year. I was involved in many voluteer groups, but was barely greeted by anyone there! The parent involvement is high but hard to work one's way into the groups that know each other.
