Aloma Elementary School Reviews

This is my son's 1st year @ Aloma. In 3 weeks he has learned a great deal and is excited about doing well. His teacher has made learning fun and has taught us both on how to make learning fun. 4th grade mom.

This is an excellent school

execelent schoo very good teachers and pricipal

My boys are going to Aloma. I have noticed improvment since the year before. I feel there is more attention put towards the students. The 0 tollerance for bullying is taken seriously at Aloma. There is constant communication with the principle and the parents. One thing I would love to see though is a refurbishment to the school. Maybe administration can step up a little as well in sprusing up the halls and common areas. Lets see some paint on the walls and stensiling. Lets make it a more harmoneous walk to class. A little TLC goes a long way.

Aloma Elementary is a fantastic school! Dr. Jones and the staff are wonderful!

Aloma Elementary School is really a safe, friendly and dynamic school. The principle is working very hard in school projects and the teachers are creative and enthusiastic in education. My child likes this school very and he is in gifted program which can develop his talents in thinking and explore class. Parents has good communication and interaction with the teachers. It's a great A school in Winter Park.

This is an excellent school. My daughter attended this school on kindergarten 2007. Her progress was fantastic !! great teachers: thank you Ms. Jackson !! great school: thank you Aloma Elementary School !!

Aloma is a awful school. my kids attended for the last two semesters and have done poorly. Their previous school grades went down to failing teacher communication to parents in school agenda is awful how can you help your child when the teacher gives you no indication of what that child needs help in. Until you see their grades and it seems that they have spent over 30 hours in class and you are told the last two weeks of school that the child may be kept back. There was no extra help subjected by the teacher. The principal there is not well informed and no summer program is available.

My niece attended in 2003-2005 and I thought the school was lacking in the teaching department. My son now attends and I like it even less. There is very little instruction given to students to take home for their parents to help with homework assignments and when a parent is involved and tries to communicate with the teacher the teacher does not seem interested in helping the parents help their child to be successful. I am presently looking into private school for my child because I care about the education he is not getting at Aloma.

Highest expectations are met through the staff and students on a daily basis. I only wish that my older children would have had the same opportunity. As you walk through the doors you are met with a sense of wanting to be there. The atmosphere is joyful, serene, and content. (Definitely the family setting of home away from home) the children are inspired through their teachers to succeed and to achieve to their very best. The time invested in our children each day is astounding. We feel very blessed to have our child a part of the aloma family. Thank you sincerely to everyone for creating this wonderful environment for my child each day.

lack of activities for the children, lack of discipline.lack of information going home with the students and if they send it it's always late.

This is my childs first year at Aloma and I am very disappointed in the school. It is considered an A school but the school is practially falling apart and the principle is not very helpfull at all. The school definely needs more guidance to put it back on the right track. You would never think this was a Winter Park School. I hope the principle gets on the ball and does something to help teh teachers provide a better environment for their students. Where is all the money going from the 'A' school status. We need more parent involvment as well. I would not recomemnd this school to anyone moving in the zone and hope that the priciple and teachers try to improve the school and thereselves. In the meantime I am transfering my child to private school.

Caring community. Some inconsistency in teaching quality among newer teachers, and they do switch a lot of assignments from year to year. Hope new principal is as accessible as previous. Excellent after school music program.

the criteria at Aloma is in good standing with state requirements, activiaties are limited but good sports team. Involvement for parents are always excepted and welcomed.

This school has a srtong art, music and sport involvement. The students recieve high marks on academic testing and most parents are willing to help and commit their time to improve programs.

I think Aloma Elementary is a great school. We just moved here from South Carolina and I have two attending Aloma elementary. My first grade teacher made my daughter feel really comfortable on her first day. She was very nervous giving the fact she is a one arm amputee, and she was very worried about the other students teasing her. So again I think its a great school, and the staff shows great concern for the students.

My son goes to Aloma and I couldn't be happier with his progress. The teachers are wonderful. I haven't had any problems over th past three years. The principal does a great job and the PTA is the best.

My son improved so much last year, thanks to the excellent teachers and all the offered programs.
