Cheney Elementary School Reviews

This school has proven again it has what it takes to give each child the tools for success.

Cheney has nothing except the success, security and enjoyment of life and education in mind. I am very impressed with the principal and 3rd grade teachers. I would recommend Cheney to anyone.

The teachers at Cheney Elementary seriously look at the academic profiles of each child and work hard to make sure each child achieves at their highest abilities. I have seen this school do some amazing things for students because the people who work there care a lot.

This school has a terrific principal who is the primary reason it remains a very good school. Teachers are trained to care and become involved with each student. Reading and math remain priorities at Cheney.

Cheney is a great school! It may not be pretty from the outside, but what goes on inside the classroom far outshines the rest!

I have 2 children in Cheney and I would like to say that it is a wonderful school. It lacks on the extracurricilar activities but as far as academic it is wonderful. I enjoy the teachers and think they do an excellent job. It feels more like a close nit group than say a huge school with way too many students..It definately ranks high on my list..You won't regret sending your child there..;)

My son has been enrolled in this school for 1 year now, and I am actually quite disappointed. The teacher seems to be 'burned out' and the students suffer with various punishments such as having a dictionary slammed in their face and being told they will write words for the rest of the year, or all priveledges taken away. The principal didn't seem interested about the emotional state of my son. I am so disappointed with the faculty of this school that I am moving out of the district, just to get to a different school. I think the school faculty should be evaluated and re-educated on the importance of emotional well being.

Teachers at this school are very friendly and helpful if you or you child has questions or concerns about anything. They really push the kids to read and for parents to be involved with their childrens school work. They also have a read and relax program where you can go up to the school and read with your child and your kid will get to pick a book to take home and keep. The school does not look like much but don't be fooled Cheney is a great school where the teachers and staff really care about these children and want them to have the best education possible.

Between both of my children, we have been at Cheney for the last four years. Cheney is a good school, the teachers' we have had have been great starts to their early education, I thank each and every one of them for their guidance in teaching my children. Though I strongly believe education starts at home.....as parents we need to remember our teachers' cannot teach alone, they need our help and support too. The staff at Cheney are really great, they do their best to help, when you need it. I would really love to see involvement from 'more' staff and parents. Support your school, students, and children. A calendar is posted in front of the school with up coming events and classroom calendars go home monthly with your child, please 'read' them and become involved. You'll be amazed how it makes your child(ren) feel. Please remember to join your school PTA. Thank you Mrs. Butler and Mr. Torres for making our school a great place to receive education.

My son has been going to Cheney for 3 years now and I love this school. Mrs. Butler is very caring and supportive of every student. I am very pleased with everyone there....

i recently had to change my childs school due to moving, although i see major progress in my child and his attitude in going to school and its only been 3 weeks ! I could have never asked for a better principal then Mrs Butler! She went out of her way to make diffucult times with my children stress free for me and did everything in her power to work with our family !

My child has been going to Cheney for 4 years now. I went to this school many years ago. It is still a great school. The teachers are great. The principal is the best (Mrs. Butler). Ass. Prin. is also great (Mr. Torez). I would surely recommend this school. Join the OTA and SAC and you will learn alot about the school. Cheney has come a long way.
