Altamonte Christian School Reviews

Like any school, Altamonte Christian has its strengths and weaknesses. It has a low classroom size with only around 20 students per grade. This does help to develop great student/teacher relationships, but limits the amount of classes that can be offered. ACS covers all of the basics in education and deals well with a very low tuition price. I graduated from ACS and feel like I was well prepared for college. There are many life truths that ACS teaches that are not fully appreciated by its students until after graduation. Those who give it a 'bad rating' most likely are the same type of people who have a bad attitude about many various things in life. I would highly recommend Altamonte Christian School and do acknowledge that by no means is it 'perfect for everyone.'

As a former graduate, there was no question in my mind where I was going to enroll my child when he was old enough to attend. Yes, the small size does limit what is offered to the students as far as extra-curricular activities and specialized courses, but it does offer a wonderful atmosphere for developing great relationships with the teachers and staff. Many of the teachers that touched my life and helped shape who I am today are there to give that same guidance to my son. The teachers, staff, and administration are genuinely concerned with not only the education of each child, but their spiritual well-being. That fact alone makes this school worth your serious consideration.

I attended this school as a student for 10 years, pre-k through 8th grade. It was not by choice that i attended this school and had it been my choice i would of never attended past elementary school. The curriculum is exceptionally slim with very little if any choice in which classes you are allowed to attend. Due to the sheltered and small classroom environment the student have no true understanding of the real world. They have the same teachers, same kids in their classes, and usually have a close relationship with teachers. I consider myself thankful that i was allowed to attend a public high school before i was accepted to Florida State University, due mainly to the fact that a larger high school prepared me for the daunting size and extremely busy professors of a large State University.

I am a parent of two students who attend Altamonte Christian School. They have attended this school for seven years. As an elementary school teacher at a local public school, quality of education is very important to me. Altamonte Christian School surpasses all my expectations of excellence in education. It is reassuring to me that my children are getting a great education. I m impressed by the quality of teachers, the curriculum and the high standards. As a christian and an educator, I am certain that the Christian based education that my children are getting in Altamonte Christian will prepare them for any plans in the future, including any college of their choice. Also, it is a testament to the school s success that there are many multi-generational families, children of former students, enrolled.

My children have attended this school for more than 8 years. It is a terrific school with teachers who care about their students, who genuinely give them an excellent education and who have Christian values themselves. Your child will work hard and learn while at this school. You will know they are getting a quality education. They have a lot of rules and are strict, but again, they are being prepared for their futures and it is a pleasure to know they are being held accountable for their actions. I really value this school and would not want my children to go anywhere else.

I am an ACS grad who attended the school for over six years. I love the school and still visit occasionally. The teachers make an effort to get to know their students, especially Mrs. Mancuso. Small class sizes (my graduating class had 10 students including myself) meant that students actually know who they're in class with. Also, it promotes an atmosphere of family. Mrs. Barton and Mr. Smith do an excellent job of running the school. Does it have weaknesses? Yes, but every school is going to have them whether public or private. ACS is what you make of it. If you're determined to find faults, then you will. If you take the bad with the good, then you'll have amazing memories for the rest of your life. Academically, I entered college unfazed by the workload. If you apply yourself at ACS, then college, while presenting challenges, will go well.

ACS has an Administrative team, teachers and staff that is well qualified, loves the Lord, and cares for every parent and student that walks the halls. They spend hundreds of hours on the phone, making calls, and talking to parents well, after it is time for them to go home. They count it a ministry to proclaim the Gospel, and educate those who come to ACS. ACS is a ministry of Palm Springs Baptist Church and it's mission is to provide a Bible-based and Christ honoring education that will last them for eternity. We need more schools like this one they truly love serving the Lord in this thriving community. ACS offers: computers, band, yearbook, and a sports program. They have teachers who tutor after school as well as during the summer. The school also offer an after care program, sports, and summer camp ministry.

The transition from Public School (in New York) to Altamonte Christian School was one I will never forget. The staff and faculty are caring, they go the extra mile for you to ensure you're doing great spiritually and academically. The school makes everything fun with the correct elements to proper education and discipline. I would consider high-school at ACS the best 4 years of my life, especially with the closeness developed from the small class sizes. Weekly chapel services kept our attention in The Word, and the school allowed for parents to be involved in special events! Sporting events were a great time and family friendly, and there were outlets for everyone to get involved.

My son started acs aug 2004. The administration does not welcome or even acknowledge comments or suggestions from parents. I think the teachers were O.K. Communication was never what I would consider good. It is a very cold environment. Not what I would consider a christian environment...

K4-12 grade school. One class per grade - about 15-18 kids per class with 1-2 teachers per class. Soccer available for boys and basketball for girls. Excellent band program - but the program is a little expensive. The school uses 'lines' or writing sentences for punishments or detention where students write bible verses. All students attend bible classes and chapel. Middle school and high school are very small. The whole school averages 260-280 kids in all grades per year. It is nice to have my children at a school that still allows Christmas programs and plays.
