Lake Highland Preparatory School Reviews

Lake highland is one the worst schools in central florida. I highly suggest public schools because lhp has diciplint problems.

Lake Highland is one of the finest preparatory schools in Orlando. Our child loves the structure and the commitment to academic excellence. We highly recommend the school.

Ughh! just a horrible atmosphere...I just swithced my daughter to WPHS and it is so much better....some of her other friends have switched too and there is no comparison! LHPS is not a good school!

i love lake highland it is the best school. the teachers are great and the students are smart and friendly i have recently changed from another orlando school and i love going to lake highland

My child went to Lake Highland for a few years and now she is in Florida public school. I actually determined her public school is better than Lake Highland. A good public school teacher can be careless which child is rich and famous and focus on education. The public school gifted program provides wonderful learning experience for my child. The money we saved from paying the name of Lake Highland gave us room to provide our child a lot more extra activities. We can see she is happier and more well rounded.

The problem is being able to see the quality of education received for the high tuition paid. I've had difficulty locating benchmarking data for comparison to public schools. I think a substantial amount of money spent on buildings should be directed towards hiring the best instructors available and providing additional education programs. While my children love the school, they have never experienced attending public school. I think they receive a skewed view of society as well, believing everyone is wealthy. On the positive side, the campus is very safe and parent involvement is high. The teachers are very good and appear committed. But I experienced this in the public school system growing up. I am considering sending my children to public school unless I am able to determine they are inferior to LHPS.

The lower school is far from loving and nurturing as it says in it's mission statement. The leader of lower school administration is terrible and if you don't do it her way... then see ya later.

I attend Lake Highland and while it is a bit cliquey, the school is small enough so that everyone knows everyone. But it is not too small. Everyone is welcoming, the teachers are great, and the friendships you form there will last forever. It is very academically challenging and offers great after school activities. There really is a sense of community and family here. It's a great school!

My child attended Lake Highland in the elementary lower school, for 5 years. It was very 'click' ish. If you don't do everything 'just so' the school will get rid of you. They don't foster creativity. They are purely academic. For the money they charge, you can hire a tutor for far less, and go to a free public school.

Lake Highland is a fantastic school. I have learned so many thins there that will carry me through the rest of my life. The education is top notch and there are so many spectacular extra curricular activities. The faculty is great, from pre-k to 12th grade. I have loved every single teacher that I have had ever since when i started in kindergarten. Now going on my 11th year there, I am very thankful that I can go to such a great school. I have had a wonderful experience there and absolutly love it!

The lower school is far from loving and nurturing as it says in it's mission statement. The leaders of lower school administration including the guidance counselor are generally cold if you are not in their social circle. The academic programs are ok. The extracurricular activities are very strong. However, with most facilities getting run down and the high teacher-student ratio, this school needs to work on a lot of improvements before they can attract truly gifted students.

This school is what you make of it. If you are into sports and performing arts...then you found the right place. Unless you have gone here your whole life it is difficult to come in and 'fit in'. Many cliques are already established. The middle school is a joke. I came from park maitland and I never was able to fit in here.

We are graduating our 2nd, and last child from pre-K to 12th this 2007. The journey at Lake Highland Prep has been full of challenging opportunities and growing experiences; socially, mentally and physically. The teaching staff is nurturing in the lower school, middle school requires them to take more responsibility yet they are there to guide students through. The high school offers so many great academic extracurricular activities such as debate, the science programs like Aspire and many leadership programs. 2 years of VOLLEYBALL State Champs, home of Girls' Soccer State Champs, and with a new Auditorium soon to be built, plenty of exceptional activity beyond classes.

This school is an amazing institution of fine learning. The class sizes are small and personal, providing an excellent education for every student. The extra-curricular activities are numerous. Overall, the school is one of the finest schools in Orlando.

Lake Highland is an amazing school and provides a focused and challenging education in a wonderfully nurturing environment

Lake Highland is my dream school.

Academics is of highest quality. Very strong stress on Math/science and writing. LHPS has a strong arts program including the performing arts, visual, etc. They offer sports, PE, swimming both as part of the curriculum and as extracurricular activities. Some examples are swimming, tennis, golf, team sports etc. Very high parent involvement

LHPS has been a good school for my daughter. Thus far, she has attended grades PK4 and Kindergarten and I feel she has been able to gain exceptional knowledge, independence, and social skills during these two years.

Fantastic nurturing atmosphere in the elementary grades...along with the excellent counselors and teachers throughout the grades....makes this school the only choice in Orlando!

Best school in Orlando!
