Good Shepherd Catholic School Reviews

The parents are very involved, and the extracurricular activities are great, and the teaching is great.

We are so happy we have chosen Good Shepherd for our children. Although they are still young (2 and 5), they have grown and developed so much! They both adore their teachers and everyone is truly like a family there, lending support and guidance to those in need! Cannot say enough great things about this school, academically and morally, they rate high!

If you're looking for a great church, come to Good Shepherd. If you're hoping for your children to get an education, you will be disappointed. You will not get both at Good Shepherd.

We looked at all of the schools in our area before deciding on Good Shepherd. It was, hands down, the best decision we ever made. This is our third year at the school and between the administration and the teachers, our children are extremely well educated as well as loved. I am secure each day as I leave them there that I could not have made a better decision for my children. Parental involvement is key to the school's success, and the principal and teachers welcome your involvement. This is truly a one of a kind school, and you will be hard pressed to find teachers like Miss Mary and Miss Cristina in the PK and Mrs. Pietrewicz and Mrs. Quinn in MAC1 anywhere else. Our children have excelled at this school. We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about it.

We had high hopes for such an expensive school. Teacher quality is poor. Teaching methods are outdated. Student progress is not the priority. Class sizes are well over 25 in the primary grades. Administration makes decisions based on what is best for PR, rather than the best interest of the student. Please research other private schools and public schools before considering a place where education is not the top priority.

Our first daughter started attending Good Shepherd Catholic School in 1st grade and graduated this year. All of her 8th grade classmates did not want to leave the school, which speaks for the school when the kids want to stay. They wished the school would continue until 12th grade. The principal, Ms. McNamee, was awarded both the National Catholic Education Association Dr. Robert J. Kealey Distinguished Principal Award and the National Distinguished Principal Award. Additionally, the school was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon school. Our church pastor recommended Good Shepherd to us by because of Ms. McNamee. We are so glad we chose Good Shepherd over the other Catholic schools near our home. May God continue to bless Good Shepherd with great teachers and staff.

My daughter attended Good Shepherd from 2 years of age till Kindergarten. It is an excellent environment providing the highest quality of education that encourages creativity allowing each child to flourish in his/her own accomplishments. Ms MacNamee, the principal truly knows every child by name and greets each child with a hug and a smile. It was a wonderful experience for us both:)

This school won the President's Blue Ribbon for Excellence about three years ago but has consistently gone down in academic value since then. The teachers are not as demanding of homework.

The quality of the academic is excellent. Principal just got the 'principal award of excellent' . Students are prepared to go to ib programs, other private schools and regular public school. Sports os big. Kids enjoy it and the school was awarded one of the best in the catholic school. I loved that the parents are allowed to be involved in the school. It is excellent. Everyone wants to participate.

excellent school. very tight-knit & faith-based community. well-rounded staff & superb athletic programs.

This school has been very good for my child academically. The teacher's really do teach the children and push them to be all they can be. They encourage them to learn. The principal and assistant principal are wonderful. The principal knows each child's name and always has a kind word for the children or a hug. The assistant principal is of the same mold. They run a tight ship and make this a truly wonderful school.

I have two children who attend Good Shepherd Catholic School. I am extremely happy with the Principal, Teachers and Staff. My kids love the school and enjoy the parent involvement. It's well worth paying for my children to attend Good Shepherd and get a great education and good moral values!

Good Shepherd Catholic School provides a high quality education. The school handles multiple academic needs from gifted to low average via a different type of classroom called the MAC (multi-age classroom) classroom and a good resource staff. The teacher's have high expectations of all the children and demands for student independence start at an early age. The religious aspect assists in teaching moral values with an emphasis on love, tolerance, and kindness. The class size is larger, however, than the public schools. The class size is 30 students from kindergarten up with one teacher and one aide in each class. You must also transport your child to and from the school. There is a good after school program for working parents. Parent involvement is required to attend the school (35 hours per family). It helps to make a family atmosphere where most families know one another.

This is a wonderful school. My mother went to this school back in 1957 and now my 3 children go there. They have a wonderful teaching staff and parents involvement is very high. I have been with this school for the past 11 years and have another 8 to go. I would not have missed my children going to this school for anything. I feel that Ms. McNamee, the principal, makes this school a place that both the students and parents love to attend.
