St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School Reviews

Not enough great things can be said about St. Charles. When you think of how a school should be in terms of good strict discipline, well rounded respectful children and extremely bright students This school fits the bill. It doesn't matter if you are catholic, the academics supersede any school in central Florida...I have done the research. It's a working class private school with real people who care about where their children go to school. Our daughter LOVES this school, and since pre-k she has been reading about two grades above her level thanks to their superb curriculum. With all the horrible middle schools in Orlando it's comforting to know that St. Charles has K through 8 covered so no need to worry about that crucial in-between stage before high school. If you are a parent who is truly involved in your child's learning journey, St. Charles is the school!!

St.Charles is tight. It doesn't matter if u catholic or not or whatever race you are they treat you like family. Yes i have 3 main friends(we call ourselves the trio) and a few more outside friends that really close, but every week I seem to talk to every kid in my grade because when there's only 75 kids in your grade you know everybody and I like that.Oh and the teachers are marvelous. Some are more lively than others but in the end they give a great education.

St. Charles has been a wonderful experience for our whole family. We are not Catholic, but this has not been much of an issue. I intended to send her to public school after Pre-K, but we liked it so much here, she is now in 5th grade. Many of my best friends are other parents from St. Charles, and I know most of my daughter's friends parents. The curriculum has prepared my daughter to excel on the ITBS exam. She has been able to join Duke's TIP program based on her test scores. The teacher's are strict enough, but still caring to the individual child. The recent commitment to keep reasonable class sizes has been a significant improvement. The school can be tough on discipline issues when needed. The Prinicipal and AP are involved and caring with the children and improving the school.

Excellent learning environment. A combination of academics and fun. A non judgemental atmosphere. All types of children are welcome. Principals are accessible and very intererested in what parents have to say.

This is my daughters sixth year at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School. Scholastically they are a top notch school recently awarded a 2007 National Blue Ribbon School of Academic Excellence by the Department of Education. This is a tribute to the dedicated and hard working faculty and staff. They have a well rounded curriculum that offers physical education, music, spanish, art, band, choir and chapel. In addition, they have an awesome athletic program that offers both boys and girls a variety of seasonal sports to choose from. Together the parish and school offer a true sense of community and we are fortunate to have found such a terrific school right in our own backyard. It s Orlando s best kept secret!

The student/teacher ratio is very good. Approximately 20 students/teacher. Great catholic community. Great learning environment, they promote mind, spirit and faith. Parents are very involve with activities. They offer a wide variety of sports. They have chorus, and art classes as well.

The quality of education does not exist at SCBS. Teachers are uncooperative and gossip about the parents. The leadership of the school is detroying it.

To me St. Charles has been a safe haven for my child. Not only it was his first experience in a private school but if was a great one. Since an early age he was exposed to music, spanish and physical education as well as a vast enrichment in the classroom. Parents are very involved with the school and you can feel the appreciation to the system with all the volunteer work being done.

Parental involvement is certainly not lacking at St. Charles Borromeo - the smaller percentage of stay-at-home moms volunteer voraciously for each and every opportunity. The staff is comprised for the most part with dedicated teachers, but there are a handfull of old school clock-punchers determined to mold each student into the proverbial round peg that must fit in the round hole. The most disturbing aspect I have found here is the 'no recess' punishment .. surely, this denial of fresh air and exercise must have just the opposite result of what they hope for when this thoughtless act is carried out.

Bulldog Pride! St. Charles in Orlando is a great school. Understanding, religious ed, plenty of foreign language (including Spanish and French). Middle school ages pick electives.

St. Charles has been offering Catholic educational excellence for over fifty years! Formation, Faith, Fellowship and Fun best describe the philosophy behind the well rounded curriculum and activities. In addition to high academic standards, the school offers art, music, band, and drama. Middle school students are able to enjoy a variety of APEX (Activities and Programs for Enhancement and EXtension) courses such as photography and computer repair to name a few. Physical education is available to all students and St. Charles has a strong athletic program. Parent's input is valued and they are welcomed to participate in many school committees and volunteer opportunities. The faculty is warm, genuine and caring. Faith is the fabric and Christ the very fiber. The student population is a rich and diverse. Our children's safety is the highest priority as the school campus is locked and secured and all volunteers, involved parents and staff and are fingerprinted.

My daughter is in 4th Grade @ St. Charles and she loves it. We were in public school last year where she was not challenged (she was A Honor roll & extremely high on FCATS) She has increased her reading level to 9th Grade level and is involved in Choir and Girl Scouts. We loe the community feeling at St. Charles and the involvement of the Principal and Vice Principal are incredible! There is alot of school pride and fun learning activities for the whole family. I plan to send my other daughter to St Charles too next year - it is well worth what we pay for my children to be challenged and love going to school each day.

St. Charles has been a good experience for our first-grader. He seems to be learning a lot and having fun. And we like having him in a faith-based environment.

My son has been a student at St. Charles since kindergarten and is now in 8th grade. It has been a wonderful experience overall, although no experience is without problems. I have found the administrators and faculty to be responsive and open to feedback and potential improvement. The dedication of the teachers is readily apparent and the curriculum is challenging. The students are taught in a setting that promotes character, morality and responsibility. We have all developed close relationships with fellow students and parents and would not have traded our years at St. Charles for anything.

My children attended this so called, 'Great School'. The only attribute St. Charles has on their side is their cirriculum. The worst would be their inexperienced new catholic teachers. There is a massive turn around keeping the older 'good' teachers around. At the expense of the child, it's up to the parent to pull their child out and find a school providing better educated teachers.Teachers who are more interested in the benefits of education and not the expense of the tuition.

My daughter has attended St Charles since kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. We have been more than satisfied with not only her academic education but with the acts of kindness they are tought and general human decency. We love the teachers and their involvement and the love that they show the students!
