St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School Reviews

St. Mary Magdalen School educates the whole child; spiritually, academically, emotionally and physically. The prevailing atmosphere throughout the school is a warm, nourishing and friendly environment. Teachers are dedicated and committed. Children are happy and challenged to learn at each child's own pace.T

I've been attending SMM for the past 4 years and I much prefer it over my previous school. Here throughout the day I feel so comfortable it's as if the school is my own home. The teachers are dedicated to each student's needs, and thats a quality everyone looks highly upon. They also have an excellent Drama program that I've been part of for the past two years, and they're director is outstanding. As is the principal, and all the other teachers.

I have worked at St. Mary Magdalen for almost ten years. I am proud to be a part of this establishment that takes a whole child approach to the development and enrichment of our students.

St. Mary Magdalen is a terrific school. SMM exceeds my expectations of what a school should be and its US Dept. of Education's Blue Ribbon award reflects that. The school fosters a family atmosphere and all of the grades interact with each other. Discipline is well maintained and the students are happy and genuinely like being there. The Administration is excellent and you are treated like family at the school. I cannot emphasize enough the superior quality of the education provided at SMM compared to what is available at the A rated local public schools. For any parent who is considering sending their child to a private school, or who is simply dissatisfied with the quality of the local public schools, do yourself and your child a favor, and check out SMM.

I have had a child in SMMS since 1994, and my second (last) one graduates this year, 2009. Tremendous strides have been made over those years and the fact that SMMS received the US Dept of Education's Blue Ribbon award attests to that. The school's administration, teachers, and parents provide a strong Christian-centered environment much needed in todays world. Academics are strong as standardized test scores have shown. While it might be a bit short on after-school clubs, there's a healthy sports program (with a beautiful new gymnasium), as well as band and drama. The teaching staff is of the highest caliber, and very caring. The school board is a dedicated one and, along with the Principal, always receptive to new ideas and open communication from those families that are interested and concerned.

St. Mary Magdalen was and unexpected choice for our family. We relocated from Cincinnati, Ohio and research a substantial number of private Catholic schools. At first glance, the campus isn't all that impressive, and there aren't the bells and whistles of typical private schools. However, our son has been enrolled since 2006 (K-3), and we have been extremely impressed with each teacher's commitment. More importantly, the community is extremely close and supportive of one another, and the culture embraces and elevates a sense of togetherness which leads a positive example for our children. Our son adores his friends, classes, and activities and has thirved socially and academically. The only areas of opportunities would be to establish firmer and more streamlined communications in regards to policy and process and also to strengthen the Principal's leadership style to be more responsive to parents' requests or questions.

I have been very pleased with the school, teachers, administration and the academics. My daughter loves her teachers, friends and going to school. The fact that it is faith-based only reinforces the values that we are trying to teach our children. I am thrilled every year with the growth that is fostered there for the children and the caring and love shown to the kids and families. Great school!

The school as a whole is very good. However, there are a couple of teachers who have continually received negative remarks from parents regarding their treatment and disrespect of the young students and their parents.

Talk about a Great School, where kids flourish, in a caring, well directed environment. There are activities for all types of students. Advanced math, literature, science, ... We are extremely happy with the school, and the type of teachers, and administrators.

Great school. It seems to improve every year. The principal is always open to ideas.
