Northstar High Charter School Reviews

It works with the child more on a one to one.

Sending my child to Northstar was a mistake. In most cases, I think the school your child is zoned for would be better. This school lacked the most basic supplies. Even a F-rated school would have more resources available. There are far better alternative out there. Take the time to do the research. I wish I had.

This school was wonderful for my child. The teachers genuinely care about each student and the leadership is outstanding. My child felt safe and was very proud to graduate from Northstar High School. I would highly recommend this school!

Lack of good books, supplies and materials hamper teachers' effectiveness at this school. There is a decided lack of challenging courses for students who aspire to go to college. Also, there is a definite morale problem among staff due to poor overall leadership and lack of support. Most of the students are working hard to improve their academic skills. Teachers try to work one-on-one as much as possible.

The teachers there overall are all wonderful! They would stay after school with my children to help them with their studies. It's not a very big school so it doesn't have a lot of extracurriculum activities. But what they do have is great! There is no parent invovement in this school. Which is to bad. I think they need to step up on the safety concerns due to the number of troubled kids that they have to allow in this school. They need to stick with the rules and suspend the students that continue to be a problem. And not allow them another warning! If we were to move back to the area,I wouldn't send my girls to Northstar.

This school is okay. I reccomend the school if you are looking for a private school enviornment without the tuition and uniforms. There are only two sports teams. A basketball team and a cheerleading team. There is also FCA. Some overcrowding in some classes.

An excellent choice for students that do better in a smaller, more personal environment. The teacher/student ratio is a big benefit and as an Orange County Public School, it provides an alternative to a private school that might not be accredited. It's a small school with a big heart, with public school accreditation - something you cannot afford to sacrifice. The teaching staff is outstanding - they are all certified teachers that really care about the student. The director and staff are to be admired for their selfless dedication to providing a quality education for all students. Children with extra needs (learning/physical disabilities)or students that cannot excel in a classroom with 40 other students are welcomed. Their goal is to help each student be successful. My son is a recent graduate of this fine school and is going to college in August. Thank you for helping make his dream come true.
