Wet 'n Wild: a waterpark for thrill seekers

Articles RSS Feed Share
Feb 15, 2010

For you adrenaline junkies that love "nearly vertical" drops, try the Bomb Bay ride at Wet 'n Wild, where you'll zoom down the 76 foot slide. In The Storm, you'll be shot into the spherical bowl much like the eye of a cyclone. The Der Stuka is a six story speed slide, for thrill seekers only. Most rides require a minimum height of 48" to ride.

If speed slides aren't your cup of tea, relax on the lazy river, lounge in the wave pool or play a game of sand volleyball.

Group rides are fun for everyone. The four person tube ride Disco H2O features disco music and dance lighting for a groovy time. Twist down the Black Hole or jet down The Flyer with your favorite water-loving friends.

Kids can play on the inflatable bubble surrounded by a shallow pool or enjoy mini rides in the kiddie area.

Between May and September, visitors can enjoy the Wake Zone for a fee. Here you can knee ski, wake skate, and double-person tube around the lake.

Visit the events page to see what's happening at the park. Some days college students or military members receive discounted admission.

Swimming and water rides can elicit ravenous hunger. Luckily the park has many options for food. At Bubba's BBQ Chicken you can gorge yourself on pork, chicken, ribs, beef, hot dogs, wings and chicken tenders with fries and cole slaw. Sample pizza from Manny's Pizza or carnival treat like hot fudge sundaes, cotton candy, deep fried candy bars or foot long corn dogs. If you're over 21, you can cool down with a beer, margarita, daiquiri or mixed drink seasonally.
